A beautiful and much prized DeNicola Vintage Aries Ram Zodiac Brooch dating from 1956 - 1957.
It is beautifully made and has a gold plated base with red,  gold, and blue enamel
 work to the textured throat, and horns and clear sparkling rhinestones set in rhodium
plated metal. The face has a sculptural look and  is made of thermoplastic material resembling faux jade,
with two tiny crystal eyes. It is in excellent condition and is signed with the DeNicola signature on the rear.
The rear of the brooch has a pin and rollover C clasp closure. It measures approximately
5.7 cm x 4.5cm.

Aries the Ram is the first sign of the Zodiac, a fire sign covering March 21 to April 19,
and is associated with the planet Mars, making it an ideal gift for anyone born under this star sign

DeNicola costume jewellery company was started by Jerry DeNicola in New York City in 1956,
and lasted until 1970. Before that Jerry worked for the Kramer Division of Christian Dior.
This brooch is one of a series of 12 Zodiac pins created by DeNicola, and they are much sought after
 todays collectors. DeNicola jewellery was sold at the Bonwit Teller store in New York, one of the
 cities finest department stores.
