Lovely vintage modernist sterling silver owl brooch with detailed body and feet and oxidised silver finish to face.  It has a pin and rollover C clasp closure to the rear.  It is marked " STERLING " on the rear and has another letter type mark. The brooch measures approximately 3.7 cm x 3.7 cm. Weight is 11 grams. It is in very good condition with small signs of wear commensurate with age. Estimated to date from the 1940's to 60's. This brooch is unsigned but arrived in a batch with other rare brooches by Frances Holmes Boothby which can be found here and here
