Vintage rare Rita Ferguson sterling silver necklace. The links are sterling silver S shaped type links with floral type details on some links. The necklace measures approximately 17 inches (44cm) x 0.9 cm wide and has a silver hook clasp closure. It is marked with makers marks "RF" and also has silver hallmarks for Edinburgh 1935 on the rear . Weight is 28 grams. It is in very good condition with small signs of wear commensurate with age.
Rita Ferguson was an Edinburgh silversmith who had a studio on York Place and then worked from 214A Braid Road, Edinburgh. Notably she made the Edinburgh freedom of the city casket that was presented to Sir Winston Churchill.
